Based out of her home, Bria Howard, Owner and CEO, was initially inspired to start the home base business as a high-school student after the passing of her cousin, Malcolm, whose dream was to become a pastry chef. The name of the business is a tribute to her great-grandmother whom she never had the opportunity to meet but was an awesome baker in her own right. Sweet as “Bea” Desserts was relaunched in January 2015 when Bria returned home after completing her Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing from Bowling Green University (Ohio). “It started with a request to make a cake for a friend and a post on Facebook” Bria states. “I still work a full-time job as a retail manager but baking is my superpower.
