Owners Gardenia and Jesse Roper bring more than 50 years combined experience in culinary arts, product management and quality control to their positions. President & CEO Gardenia Roper is a Procter & Gamble retiree with 33 years experience in business management,,marketing and product delivery systems. Chef Jesse Roper received his training in the U.S. Air Force, developing recipes, cooking and baking for large groups. We are known in the region for our affordable pricing and consistent quality and taste — from our Collard Greens to our “Award Winning Sweet Potato Pie.” Our Sweet Potato pie won 1st Place in the Cincinnati Juneteenth Sweet Potato Pie Contest from 2004 to 2008. At the 2009 Bigg’s Soul Food Bake-Off, the pie was voted 3rd Best Dessert and our cornbread dressing was voted 2nd Best for side dishes out of 35 assorted entries. Our catering and retail distribution staff is noted for professionalism, timeliness, hospitality and food presentation. Our Full Service Catering provides a wide range of Southern entrees, side dishes, box lunches and desserts for up to 500 people.
